Several hardware modules are available for BSTS, which can be purchased with the system or added to a system later on.

• Cell Protocol Processor: CPP (E4209A)
  The Cell Protocol Processor (CPP) provides real-time and post-processing protocol testing features for the Broadband Series Test System.
   
• 0-155 Mb/s & 0-622 Mb/s ATM Stream Processors (E1607A, E1609A)
  Test the traffic management characteristics of ATM switches.
• 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet Frame Processor (E6282A)
  Provides a rich set of test features LAN interworking and native Ethernet testing tailored for equipment design and network test applications.
• 155 Mb/s, 622 Mb/s Packet over SONET/SDH Processor (E1608A)
  Evaluate the traffic management characteristics of POS/SDH switch-routers interfaces.
   
• ABR Emulation Module (E6287A)
  Use to develop and deliver ABR functionality in the shortest possible time.
• ATM Network Impairment Emulator (E4219A)
  Provides the capability to insert five impairment types (cell loss, cell error, cell misinsertion, and cell delay) into an ATM cell stream at rates up to 155 Mb/s.
• Multiport UNI Signalling Performance Test Module (E1600A)
  This test solution generates real-world signalling traffic at high rates and provides continuous real-time measurements across multiple ports.
   
• OAM Protocol Tester (E6270A)
  The ATM Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) protocol offers standardized, in-service tools for network monitoring. It enables ATM network elements to gather status information about individual ATM connections.
• T1/E1 Frame Processor (E4206A)
  Test frame-based protocols at speeds up to 2 Mb/s.
• V-Interface Frame Processor (E4207A)
  Test frame-based protocols at speeds up to 4 Mb/s.
