Answers to your Questions
GMPLS standards drafts seem stable enough
for vendors to implement some of them:
What GMPLS features and functions
do you include in your optical/MPLS router tester?
Have you added LMP test capability?
Our Optical Control Plane Analysis (E5170A) software is able
to do GMPLS decodes, including the following:
- draft-ietf-mpls-generalized-signaling.xx
- draft-ietf-mpls-generalized-rsvp-te.xx
- draft-ietf-mpls-generalized-cr-ldp.xx
- draft-kompella.ospf.gmpls.extension.xx
We are about to release the Optical UNI
RSVP Conformance Test Suite (E5171A) (ver4.1) which tests
the conformance to the oif2001.125.5 specification and since
this specification refers to LMP we will be including some
LMP test cases as well. The LMP support will include the ability
to test the control channel management.
We have also started work on GMPLS conformance
testing, and these test suites will include LMP test cases
as well. We expect to have first beta available in Sept '01
and final release is Dec '01 for conformance test suites.
We also intend to provide support for GMPLS routing protocols
by allowing topology injection during protocol interworking
tests.
In the first half of next year we also intend
to release application tools to test mesh restoration performance
etc.
