How scalable is the recently announced
Agilent RouterTester 900?
The new system delivers close to a 10 fold increase in traffic
and protocol scalability. We are positioning as the most scalable
test system in its class. Here are some numbers that should
answer your question:
Test Ports
A standard six-foot equipment rack (40U) can hold up to:
- 160 test ports of OC-3c, OC-12c, or OC-48c
- or up to 1,280 test ports of 10/100 Ethernet
- up to three 6ft racks can be connected together, with
measurements synchronized across all chassis.
- up to 60 chassis can be controlled by a single PC, with
performance measurements, such as latency, synchronized
to 10 ns
If you do the mathematics, that is up to 3,840 10/100 Ethernet
test ports in one system.
Multi-Port Traffic Generation
More than 2,000 independently controlled traffic streams
can be generated and analyzed by each port.
Protocol Emulation
Users can test up to 1,000 routing sessions and 50,000 MPLS
tunnels on each port.
