Answers to your Questions
What are the Test Challenges for IPv6?
NEMs and ISPs will need to conduct many types of testing
- functional, conformance, interoperability, and stress. NEMs
will need to ensure that routers can handle IPv6 services
without a negative impact on the performance of IPv4 traffic.
They will also need scalable routers to handle the future
growth of IPv4 and IPv6 routing tables. For example, today
the size of an IPv4 routing table connected to the Internet
is a little more than 100,000 entries. How much the IPv6 tables
will increase in the future is still unknown. NEMs and ISPs
will need to test their equipment with the most dramatic numbers.
