Powerful L2TP and PPPoX Test Capabilities Emulation of PPPoE, PPPoA and associated
protocols CHAP, PAP, LCP, and IPCP, now allows RouterTester to establish
a large number of PPP sessions with the device under test (DUT). Furthermore,
once these sessions are established RouterTester can send wire-speed traffic
from the simulated PPP clients, and obtain a full list of performance
measurements including the QoS of packets at the egress of the DUT.

First: GMPLS RSVP Test Capabilities Agilent's GMPLS RSVP Protocol Software is
the industry's first test solution that emulates realistic GMPLS-capable
networks and enables developers to effectively verify the conformance,
interoperability, scalability and performance of their GMPLS, MPLS, UNI,
LMP and RSVP-TE implementations. This software enables the simulation
of ingress, egress and interior label switch routers (LSRs). Each simulated
LSR has the ability to request large numbers of diverse label switched
paths (LSPs) and terminate many incoming LSPs. Full control of the message
contents, including ERO and RRO, allows users to simulate diverse topologies
and identify critical performance parameters.

(Martini) Signaling Test Agilent's MPLS (LDP/CR-LDP) protocol test software has been extended to support the draft martini extensions to LDP, now allowing the testing of L2oMPLS protocol implementations. These extensions can test the ability of a router to establish L2oMPLS tunnels, to measure the maximum number of peer PEs a router can support, and the maximum number of L2oMPLS tunnels that can be signalled. With the new extensions, up to 500 LDP sessions (representing up to 500 remote PEs) can be established CPU. Up to 200,000 LSPs can be signaled in total. A companion QuickTest can verify tunnel establishment by ensuring a test packet sent into a router on a CE interface is mapped to the correct tunnel. >>> Technical Data | Request a Demonstration | Return to Top Increased

- More Realistic and Faster Testing Recent additions to Agilent's LDP Protocol
testing capabilities have significantly increased the realism, speed and
ease with which you can test your LDP implementation. Address pools advertised
to the network, can now be automatically accessed by RouterTester's traffic
generator. This enhancement removes the need to manually define destination
addresses for combined LDP and traffic testing. More importantly, it fully
integrates LDP signaling with the traffic generation for realistic network
emulation. Also, CR-LDP is now supported in the MPLS Protocol Test Software.
Finally, up to 500 LDP sessions and 200,000 LSPs can be supported per
RouterTester 900 card .

First: Multi-session IGMP Testing RouterTester is the first test solution to
deliver true multi-session IGMP protocol emulation and testing. Previously,
engineers where forced to test IGMP implementations with single-session.
Agilent RouterTester can now test up to 4000 IGMP sessions per 10/100
Ethernet test card or OC3c/12c ATM test card and up to 8000 sessions per
Gigabit Ethernet Test module.

"RouterTester PowerUser" is a new email service that aims to ensure you get the most out of your Agilent investment. It is distributed roughly 6 times a year and contains articles on new products and enhancements (similar to this email). In addition to those articles PowerUser includes information such as; Power User Tips, Application Notes, Special Sales Offers, Training Material and more. If you are a user of RouterTester we urge you to change your subscription now. >>> Change my Subscription | Return to Top The Journal of Internet Test Methodologies The industry's most comprehensive compilation of data-networking test plans.
