IPsec is a suite of protocols providing security services
for data communications over public IP networks, and
is an enabling technology for widespread deployment
of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). IPsec provides data
confidentiality, data authentication and data integrity
services between peering devices - protecting IP traffic
between pairs of hosts, pairs of security gateways,
or between hosts and security gateways.
This paper will describe the fundamental concepts and
processes used within the IPsec protocol framework.
